Military contractor that admitted fraud is still under contract

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A shipping contractor that agreed to pay $28 million in fines and restitution after admitting it over billed the military will continue doing business with the federal government — for now.

The Defense Department will not consider debarment against National Air Cargo until after all legal proceedings are over in its fraud case, said Air Force Capt. Tom Wenz.

National Air Cargo pleaded guilty in federal court last week to a corporate felony charge, admitting to over billing the government by $4.4 million dollars from 1999 to 2005.

It is one of the main carriers of food, medicine, military equipment and other essentials to Iraq and Afghanistan, authorities said. Its plea deal only involved fraudulent billing on shipments within the United States.

1. "Its plea deal only involved fraudulent billing on shipments within the United States."

Like you've never stolen millions of dollars from the government.

Much ado about nothing.

It's not like they were shortchanging our troops.
