Mukasey leaves door open for waterboarding
Source: MSNBC/AP

In an intense exchange Thursday with three Democrats, President Bush's nominee for attorney general left the door open for allowing a terrorism-era interrogation technique that simulates drowning.

Michael Mukasey, a retired federal judge, issued highly-conditioned statements that so-called waterboarding violates the Constitution only if it is defined as torture.

The answer is unclear.

1. Umm how about "cruel and unusual" punishment, Mr. Mukasey?
I was hoping this guy was just a little better than this.

4. I think the Dems should leave the door open for another AG nominee
In other words, if they confirm this schmuck, then we have yet another rubber-stamp Congress.

7. Maybe these gentlemen would be more clear on whether or not water boarding were torture or not if we
GAVE EVERYONE OF THEM WHO QUESTIONED WHETHER IT WAS OR NOT A PERSONAL DEMONSTRATION OF THE "ENHANCED INTERROGATION TECHNIQUE."

I don't know how these people can even keep a straight face when they say these things? Do they really think we are falling for this Orwellian, "Bushian", (I believe a new adjective has entered the American Lexicon) Bul!$#it?

Bushian: adj, having little or no relation to fact, truth, or meaning. 2. out of touch with reality. 3. in a state of and or causing others to be in a state of confusion of facts and or truth. 4. inability to distinguish truth from fact.

9. These pencilnecks that allow partisan
politics to sway how they think sicken me. If it were a Democratic President, who wanted to waterboard, you can be sure, Repukes would make them out to me out of control, insane, Nazi-like, criminals. But if it's a draft-dodging spoiled frat boy who terms it as a few harmless pranks then it's just fine not to condemn an act of torture. How they consider themselves the party with all the black and white morals values. Repuke, morals are convenient to whom ever is in office.
