2. Well, that would be interesting...
So you crack open a bag of those salty almonds, look out your window, and ask yourself, "I wonder if those fighter jets are going to shoot us down?"

8. What's the status on the French lawsuit against Cheney?
Is it any coincidence that Cheney is looking at charges of bribery while he was the CEO of Halliburton in the French courts right now?

maybe.

Of course, Republicans would never do something like use Homeland Security to harass and intimidate people who oppose their crooked activities.

oops. WRONG. they already did that with the Texas legislature and the redistricting fight to create a one-party system in Texas.

..but that's just nationally. of course they would treat international, long-standing allies differently.

oops. WRONG. Perle did just write a "manifesto" about his struggle to start a world war, including his wish to declare France a hostile nation.

those whacky neo.----cons...

18. Alright, Here Is The Story.
Story

-SNIP-

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. fighter jets escorted a passenger flight part of the way from Paris to Cincinnati Tuesday afternoon after French authorities detained a woman trying to board the aircraft with wires protruding from her jacket, U.S. government sources said.

-SNIP-

-SNIP-

French authorities detained a woman on the flight after seeing some type of wires coming out of her jacket, government sources told CNN.

Flight 43 was allowed to take off without the woman on board: U.S. officials say the French checked the woman out and found nothing suspicious.

-SNIP-

What? They intimidated this flight even though the person of interest was not on board? How much money did that cost? An abundance of caution? I call it an overabundance of stupidity.

19. They stopped 3 jets last week for an 87-yr old, a child and 4 nobodies.
Maybe our motto should be: "We'll stop at nobody."

We're just embarrassing ourselves now.

20. Somebody booked a flight as Cantinflas
And since everyone knows that Mexico's most beloved entertainer has been dead for years, that was more than enough to ring the cherries at NORAD and DHS, hence the special airborne escort.

+DJ US Military Planes Escort Air France Plane To Ohio-TV

DJ US Military Planes/Escort -2: Expected To Land Soon

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--U.S. military jets are escorting an international
passenger flight into the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport, MSNBC reported
Tuesday.
There are conflicting reports whether the plane is operated by Air France
(F.AFG) or Delta Airlines (DAL). The airlines have a code-sharing agreement.
It wasn't immediately clear why the plane is being escorted by U.S. military
jets. The plane is about to land shortly, according to the news reports.

DJ Homeland Security -2: Delta Flight To Cincinnati

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The U.S. Homeland Security Department has denied a
report that a Delta flight from Paris is being given a military escort into the
Cincinnati airport, Fox News reported Tuesday.

DJ Homeland Security -3: Authorities Use `Reverse Screening'

MSNBC reported that once the plane lands the passengers will be screened - a
process called "reverse screening."
According to the network, the plane is Delta flight 43.
When passengers were boarding at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, French
security screeners were alerted about one woman wearing a coat with wires in it.
The woman was later put on another plane to the U.S., MSNBC reported.
The woman's coat that caused concern was in fact a motorcycle jacket which can
be plugged into the motorcycle to keep the wearer warm, MSNBC said.

DJ Delta Flight From Paris Lands At Cincinnati Airport-MSNBC

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A spokeswoman for the U.S. Transportation Security
Administration told MSNBC Tuesday that Delta Airlines Flight 43 has landed at
the Cincinnati airport.
The spokeswoman, Jennifer Marty, said the TSA received information that led it
to take additional precautions that included having the plane land away from the
airport terminal.
Marty said that all the passengers and their baggages will be re-screened at
the airport.

22. The 14:26 Entry Is Interesting.
So was the flight escorted or not? If it was will DHS be called out for the lie. Ya know what infuriates me more than the "big lies"? It's the little, run of the mill, everyday kinda lies. Doesn't matter if it's a (D.) or an (R.) they all do it and they are never called on it. BTW seeing as they escorted (or not) a plane that Coat-woman wasn't even on, are they now going to escort (or not) her new flight?
The meltdown continues.

26. This is farcical.
The lady had suspicious wires which, according to NPR, were part of her jacket. The French chic no doubt. Maybe Laura could take a look. The Dems need to start pounding that all this garbage means that we are less safe now that Sadaam is locked up, after he was officially humiliated in front of the world (especially the world of Muslims.)
Also if jets can be to France that quick, why were they not available to stop the terrorists in NY? Dems, ask that too.

27. Rove has found a way of exporting the 'terror alerts'.
when you were having non-stop terror alerts over there about 18 months ago, there was nothing in britain or most likly in the rest of the world and probably nothing in the world's media either.

Now "British Airways airplane not allowed to fly to u.s. again" was front page of the Independant yesterday.

It must have been decided that the lack of 'war spirit' exhibited by the rest of the planet was a problem for bush* and co, so they are doing something about it.

They are internationalising their 'political terror alerts' scam.
