Clement supporters ended speculation about his intentions yesterday by saying their man is "90%" committed to running but will make a final decision next week on his return from a business trip in India. With 11 weeks until the new party votes on a leader, time is ebbing away from the former health minister.'

The National Post is talking this non-entity up. Are they that desperate to appeal to Ontario? I'd love this guy to lead the right in the election, he'd lose so many seats in the West and gain nothing elsewhere. Bring it on!

1. Clement wouldn't do anything for them.

He wouldn't exactly energize the Western base, and he's associated with a discredited, radical far-right government Ontario's glad to be rid of.

These people seem desperate to avoid the appearance of an Alliance takeover, because they know how poisonous that will be outside of Alberta.
