Diaz-Balart to probe D.C. assault charges
Posted on Mon, Sep. 24, 2007

Miami Republican Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart has been named to an investigative subcommittee charged with reviewing a misdemeanor charge against Rep. Bob Filner, D-Calif., accused of assaulting an airline employee at a D.C.-area airport.

The investigation won't start until the court proceedings are resolved. The Hill newspaper reports that the investigation was triggered by a new Democratic-backed House ethics rule that requires the ethics committee to either create an investigative subcommittee or review the allegations and submit a report to the House describing its reasons for not doing so ''not later than 30 days'' after a member is indicted or charged with a crime.

Filner, who was on his way to Iraq at the time of the incident, has called the charges ``ridiculous.''

1. Lincoln Diaz-Balart. Fair and Balanced. Like FOX NEWS that is.
If Filner had hoped for any sense of fairness going into the probing of those assault charges against him ... be assured that Diaz-Balart will make sure there is no fairness ... no objectivity in that probe.

2. Man you got that right! In fact I could go a little further about
his Nazi attacks on folks that defend Cuba. Plus Diaz-Balart is an advocate of the late dictator Fulgencio Batista.

4. Oh my...
This slimy jerk was my Rep when I lived in Florida. Any horrid adjective you could apply to him would be factual. For him to be in charge of looking into anyone's ethics or behavior is a joke. When I lived there I planned, when Castro actually died, on taking a rent-a-truck to the offices of the Diaz-Balarts and the lovely Ileana...to help them pack to speed their return to Cuba...we know they must really wanting to go back since they love it so much! Now that I live in KY (ok...so I have a couple of nut case Senator's but my Rep is s Dem at least), I plan on sending them the mailing packs from the USPS. They need to be prepared to go home! Hope others will join me in helping them get back to Cuba.

Yeah...like they really would go!!! But one can hope.
