Missionaries Offer $5,000US Bounty to Bulgarian Muslim Volunteers for Iraq
Top news: 6 January 2004, Tuesday.

Missionaries recruit volunteers among the poor population of the Rhodope mountains and offer them a USD 5,000 bounty to fight for the cause of liberating Iraq, 24 Hours Daily reported, citing Turkish sources. According to the daily the information has been unofficially confirmed by sources of the Bulgarian special services.

The agents toured the regions of Balkan countries with predominantly Muslim population, convinced that the European Muslims should fight against the invaders in Iraq.

The missionaries reportedly assured the Muslims that the service in Iraq does not threaten their life, but would only prove them to be real Muslims.

1. If they EVER sober up, after this religious binge
they're going to be so embarrassed. They have screwed the reputation of quiet, law-abiding, CONSCIENTIOUS people permanently.

The world is going to have to grow up fast, and recognize the loud, pushy, overbearing, violent people who CALL themselves Christians are actually psychopaths masquerading as moral human beings.

Good people don't cause others hardship: they endure it, themselves. Real Christian people sacrifice THEMSELVES, NOT OTHERS.

Run for it, here they come AGAIN!

Bush and his imposters are going to leave a far sadder but wiser world behind them.

6. Yes, these are Muslim recruiters recruiting
volunteers from the predominantly Muslim sections of Bulgaria.

Everyone has heard of the Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo, whose presence is a legacy of 400 years of Turkish occupation of the Balkans, but there is also a Bulgarian Muslim population. They're called Pomaks.

(I've done Balkan singing and have learned something of the ethnography of the region.)

4. Can't find anything more on this.
Just a story from December 30:
