Bush Drops In on a School, in a Crucial Campaign State
The accompanying picture alone is worth it...

President Bush traveled today to Missouri, a state vital to his re-election hopes, to promote one of his signature domestic policy items, his education initiative.

Mr. Bush visited with educators and pupils at the Pierre Laclede Elementary School in St. Louis, which he said had "defied expectations by raising the bar and believing that every child can learn."

Tonight, Mr. Bush is to attend a fund-raiser in St. Louis, an event expected to bring in nearly $3 million for his re-election campaign.

At the school, the president gave about 50 fourth-graders a day to remember by visiting with them and their teachers and principal, Yolanda Moss. Had he always wanted to be president, one child wanted to know.

17. The man looks....
completely blitzed. His eyes look like two pee-holes in the snow. I'm wondering if the children aren't smelling alcohol on him. That would explain the confused and concerned looks on their faces.

2. In response to the child's question:
"Have you always wanted to be president."

"Well, ah, I think I did--I mean, I wanted to...I may have...I love America and families...now, you see, I can't quite recall--I don't remember much of--that is to say--anything that I may or may not have done between 1970 and 1992. I can, however, assure you that I committed no criminal acts in that time, and would like you to remember I was cleared on all charges."

13. Had he always wanted to be president, one child wanted to know.
"No," Mr. Bush replied, "it can be pretty hard."

A telling reply. I truly believe that he doesn't want to be president, he doesn't like the hard part.

Caption for the girl on the far right: Maybe its true when they say Anyone can grow up to be president.

15. Bush* has been to St Louis quite a bit in the last year...
In fact, the infamous warehouse photo where bush* was in front of the crates from china, was shot in St Louis. What's so truly ridiculous about this current little stunt is St Louis city schools have been in a major crisis.

they were all seated on a satge and bush* had a sheet music stand in front of him with his script.... he was reading and preparing to answer each question ...( no one else had a stand) and he had to follow it turning page by page ...it was so telling....that all the questions from these women were scripted by rove....and he had to read all the replies...so fucking sad

28. Why is Bush always hanging around elemntary schools?

its where his intelligence level is at. (Not to insult the intelligence of elementary students).

He'd be heckled to death if he stepped foot on a college campus. Can't risk the negative publicity. But elementary schools are safe for photo-ops - the very young kids there won't know any better.

Let's exploit the little 'uns for a stupid photo-op with dumbass.

35. Just watched "I remember Mama" (1948) again
In the movie, the youngest child has a male cat that she decides to name "Elisabeth." Her older brother points out that it is a tom cat. She replies in a petulant voice, "He's Elisabeth and he's gonna stay Elisabeth!!" In other words, "I don't care about the facts, I'm going to do whatever I want." Makes perfect sense to me that Doubledip is drawn towards 1st-3rd grade children - they are just like him.

what total disregard for the kids he is sitting next to. If there was a curly blond haired girl with pretty blue eyes sitting next to him, would he still have his frickin elbow in her face?

drunk idiot president.
