Flynt Unveiling More Vitter Claims

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A former New Orleans prostitute who says she had an affair with Sen. David Vitter has passed a lie-detector test and will provide details of the four-month relationship at a press conference Tuesday, according to Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt.

Wendy Cortez, whose real name is Wendy Ellis, says she had a sexual relationship with Vitter, R-La., in 1999, when he was a state legislator.

Copies of the results of Cortez's polygraph test, which she took at Flynt's request, will be provided to reporters at the news conference at Flynt's office in Beverly Hills, Calif., Hustler said in a news release Monday.

Vitter spokesman Joel Digrado wouldn't comment on the Flynt news conference. In an e-mail, Digrado said, "Sen. Vitter and his wife have addressed all of this very directly. The senator is focused on important Louisiana priorities like the water resources bill and the Iraq debate."

1. What else was going on in 1999?
Oh yeah, Republicans were impeaching a popularly elected President for having extra-marital sex. And Vitter was pious enough to broadcast his outrage of this guy's dalliances. Wonder whose toes Craig was tapping back then?

3. At least this news has put to rest my worry that Flynt had been hushed up.
I was beginning to wonder if he got paid off or threatened since we heard nothing more.

But, yes, I'd like to hear about the others, too.

With what would one "pay off" Larry Flynt? The man has enormous wealth that is, in certain respects, useless to him.

5. I keep saying this: Senate Rules require Vitter be investigated by the Ethics Committee.
I've posted the Senate's rules and regulations here. Vitter's situation clearly requires oversight by the ethics committee.

The double standard between Sen. Craig --- who can be easily replaced by another Republican --- and Senator Vitter --- who would most likely be replaced by a Democrat by Louisiana's Governor --- are glaring and obvious.

Kudos to Larry Flynt who knows where to focus: Senator David Vitter.

vitter is a waste of oxygen and needs to resign immediately if not sooner

you'd feel a lot differently if you had the honor of being "represented" by the whore-mongering piece of shit

vitter is one of those opposed to gay marriage and he did fuck-all to help this state get money after katrina

he is an embarrassment to himself, his family, his state, his country

and he needs to go, and if he refuses to go when asked nicely, hell yes, it's high time wendy cortez went public with this, she should have done it a LONG time ago

39. Yes, and remember--One more Dem Senator is HUGH.
Ride Vitter out on a rail now and he's replaced with a Dem, which makes Joementum unable to throw hissy-fits and have his way after threatening to officially change from "I" to "R", thus throwing the Senate into an official tie.

That's all it would take to have our committees sharing power with Goopers. With Vitter replaced by a Dem, Joe would be neutralized.

That would be HUGH. Really, it would.

15. Honestly, this isn't about us
We already know that the Republican party is filled with liars, criminals and hypocrites.

This is for those who support them, who voted for them, so that they might begin to see how they've been lied to and betrayed.

I don't ever expect them to switch sides or any such thing. The best I'm hoping for is that enough of them will stay home, or support a third party choice in 2008.

Dissent among their ranks only works to our advantage.

23. So true ...!!!! What a joke --- !!!!!
Are we all thinking that we must expose the right wing to itself and then it will fold???

No, it won't --

The right wingers are simply dishonest, cheating, foul, vile people who can never be brought to any true accountability?

But it is kinda fun to see them exposed to reassure ourselves about who these people truly are --

They are disgusting -- !!!

40. Vitter's outster is extremely important, actually.
See my other posts on this, in this thread. This isn't a joke.

If we can get this hypocrite/perv ridden out on a rail, we must do it, with everything we've got. If it takes a Flynt to make it happen, fine by me.

The Goopers wouldn't hesitate, as the Rude Pundit put it, to go Rove on his ass. We shouldn't either.

38. Echoing pitohui, and adding this
One of the reasons (among many, granted) our Dems haven't been able to play the kind of hardball we want with the Liar-in-Chief is because Joe Lieberman has been able to hold the threat of making it official, i.e., switching from Independent to “R”. This would create an official 50-50 tie with the VP casting the deciding vote in a tie breaker… all committeeships would be shared with Goopers, yadda yadda.

Hammering Vitter now, rather than later, means he could be forced to resign and be replaced with a Dem. This is time-sensitive, actually, because there will be an election in LA come Nov., and it’s quite possible that we’ll lose that one. At which point Vitter’s resignation would be meaningless, because it’d be a Gooper appointing a replacement.

So yeah, this is extremely important, right now.

51. Committeships would not be shared with the party of
deceit: at the beginning of the congress the rules establish who's in charge and that condition obtains until the end of that congress. This does not always hold true, as those rules are of fairly recent origin, but, in this case, it does.
The Gross old Perverts would have to force a change in the rules and a re-selection of committee heads and that is extremely unlikely, unless a dozen or more dems absconded to the other party and then forced the changes.

33. New Orleans prostitute tied to Vitter passes lie detector test
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 08:58 PM by funkybutt
Source: Times Picayune, New Orleans

Weeks after U.S. Sen. David Vitter tried to discredit her allegations, a woman who used to work as a prostitute in New Orleans passed a lie detector test averring that she had a "sexual relationship" with Vitter that lasted at least four months.

Magazine publisher Larry Flynt paid for the woman to take the polygraph test, and he plans to hold a news conference with her at his Beverly Hills office today to unveil the results and challenge the senator to submit to a polygraph.

-snip-

The woman, Wendy Yow Ellis, claims that she had intercourse with Vitter in a French Quarter apartment at Dauphine and Dumaine streets in 1999, the year the Metairie Republican was elected to Congress.

-snip-

For her part, Ellis said she took the polygraph test because it irks her that people who saw Vitter's denial in the newspaper might see her as "a two-bit whore when I'm the one telling the truth."

42. Yep. I had to take one before I started working at a sheriff's office.
I found the process of the test itself very unnerving. I passed, but by the third run-through the guy giving the test said I was starting to react on a couple of the questions. Maybe now that I know how they're administered (different from what you see on TV), it wouldn't get to me so much if I had to take another one.
