8. Local news says lots of tips have come in, but they have not been
located yet. Also, WA State Muslim groups are not happy about the profiling of these men.

11. I ride the Seattle ferries several times a month.
It seems sensible to me that terrorists would strike where they could do the most spectacular damage at the least cost and risk. Driving a van full of nitrogen fertilizer onto a ferry or leaving a hand carried bomb on the passenger deck would be an obvious way to do that. I, for one, am happy that local law enforcement takes that possibility seriously.

By KOMO Staff & News Services

SEATTLE -- The Washington state ferry Puyallup was evacuated Wednesday morning at Colman Dock in Seattle after a crew member found what they deemed to be a suspicious package on board.

The 460-foot Puyallup had just been emptied of cars and passengers after arriving at Colman Dock from Bainbridge Island about 8 a.m. when the bag of sparklers was found behind the toilet in the disabled passenger stall in the men's restroom.

Following a search and examination by State Patrol troopers, the 2,500-passenger, 202-vehicle ferry was cleared to resume service about 9 a.m.

The Puyallup delay was the second ferry disruption during the morning commute. Less heavily used runs between Point Defiance in Tacoma and Tahlequah at the south end of Vashon Island were canceled until midmorning after about a dozen cracks were found during the wee hours in the state ferry Rhododendron.

16. "No one could have anticipated..."
Let me guess...

A Republican governor vetoed a gasoline tax to fund repairs to the ferries?

18. No - a crackpot named Tim Eyman has systematically defunded
anything relating to ferries - since they are an extension of the Washington DOT, and it used be supported by licensing fees.
