Published: August 07, 2007 10:10 AM ET

BAGHDAD An Iraqi correspondent working for the Associated Press was kidnapped on Tuesday in Baquba in Diyala province, independent news agency Voices of Iraq reported citing an official Iraqi police source. The group intercepted the car of AP photographer Talal Ahmed Abdullah in central Baquba in the morning, after he left his home, and led him to an unknown place.

Baquba, capital of Diyala province, lies some 60 kilometres north of Baghdad and has been the scene of recurrent acts of violence. Ahmed is the second journalist missing in Iraq in as many days. On Monday, a Iraqi correspondent for the state-run al-Sabah newspaper in the city of Kut, a Baghdad-based media watchdog body said on Tuesday.

2. My heart skipped a beat. I went to college with a guy who later became
an AP photographer. But I'm pretty sure he's not with them anymore.

Any way, the names aren't even close.
