Cabinet to rule on Amin's fate
By Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda & David Kibirige

July 24, 2003

The Cabinet will decide former President Idi Amin's fate. Mr Amin is ailing in Saudi Arabia, where he lives in exile.

His family recently asked the government to let him return and "die from home".

The Prime Minister, Prof. Apolo Nsibambi, told reporters yesterday that the Cabinet would debate whether Amin should return home, dead or alive.

Nsibambi spoke to reporters at Parliament.
