Mainer heading to Iraq; Way clear for trucker to transport supplies
BENTON -- The on-again off-again saga of a Benton truck driver and his bid to work for an American company in Iraq took another turn this week when an agreement was tentatively reached with state officials who had revoked his passport for nonpayment of back child support.

Matt Tulley, 33, said he has agreed to make a lump sum payment to the Department of Human Services, then to open a savings account, which DHS officials can "sweep" each month until the bill is satisfied.

/snip/

DHS Director of Public Affairs Newell Auger said Tulley has agreed in principal to cooperate on a payment plan, thus freeing up the restrictions on his passport if he complies.

He said if Tulley agrees to release details of his assets to DHS and to keep with a devised payment plan, the Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery would lift the restrictions and Tulley could proceed with his plans to work in Iraq. He also must produce an outline of his proposed job and a copy of his contract.
