Libya lifts death sentences on medics in HIV case
Tue Jul 17, 2007 3:12PM EDT

By Salah Sarrar

TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libya on Tuesday commuted death sentences
on five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor convicted of
deliberately infecting children with HIV, raising hopes they would
soon be freed after eight years in jail.

A compensation settlement was made earlier in the day to 460
families of HIV-positive Libyan children -- $1 million per family.

"My personal interpretation is that their move is the equivalent
of a pardon because the compensation money is the equivalent in
Islam to 'blood money', which entails pardon," spokesman for the
families Idriss Lagha said.

The release of the foreign medics would remove a major obstacle
to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's return to the international
stage after decades of diplomatic isolation.

2. Seems like a neat new racket
Why invest in terrorism when you can simply arrest foreign nationals, charge them with a crime, sentence them to death, then free them when "compensation" is paid? In this instance the Libyans walked away with $460 million, or about $76.6 million per hostage. Don't know who got stuck with the bill, but it was expensive.

4. Libya is now big in the business of kidnapping
and members of the US government help them doing so.

Before (and probably still today) Libya made money by killing and maiming
US citizens (blowing up airliners, investing in worldwide terror cells,
blowing up clubs and discotheques, etc.)

Nowadays they kidnap foreigners and insist receiving hundreds of
millions of US dollars
or otherwise they'll behead them.
Who knows: Maybe the ones, who made the comeback of the Libyan terror
state to international politics (Cheney, Bush, Blair) possible get their
share of the profit the Libyans make by kidnapping foreign aid workers?

Because some of the money will now flow back to Halliburton and other
companies who invest in the Libyan terror state nowadays.
And we all know, which politicians in the US and British government still
get money from them ...

6. Half a billion dollar as ransom was enough for the Libyan terrorists
Given the degree of corruption in this terror state
the money will be gone very soon. You can be sure, that
the Libyan dictator will find new ways to rip off American
and European taxpayers. 'Politicians' like Bush, Blair, Rice
and Brown will assist Quadaffi and his sons in doing so.

What worries me especially, is how much of this money will
be given by the Libyan terrorists to the terror cells they
have created and financed of the last decades.

It's outrages what is happening nowadays!

Pure terror states are nowadays our 'allies' and we are
helping them for finance their regime.
