White House says Libby should begin 2-year probation term 'immediately'

<snip>

First off, White House counsel Fred Fielding says nothing in the clemency decree prevents the the former presidential aide from serving two years of probation, as ordered by U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton.

"The President's July 2, 2007 commutation of the prison term released the defendant from the Bureau (of Prisons)'s custody by directing any and all prison terms to 'expire' in advance of all other components of the sentence, which remain 'intact and in effect,'" Fielding writes in the unsolicited letter. "The remaining components of the sentence require the defendand, among other things, to report to the Probation Office immediately to begin his term of supervision."

3. If he violates the terms of the probation can he be sent back to jail
to serve the remaining term?

What were the terms of probation?

7. I hope..
it is what is considered "intensive supervised probation" where scoot gets visits at all
all hours from his probation officer and has to piss in a cup every time. He cannot leave the
state without permission from his probation officer, etc.
We all know any semblance of probation he presumes to 'serve', will be just for looks. :grr:

11. no.. make it that he has to piss in a cup EVERY hour
and his PO tracks his movements every day... and have it billed to Libby for thier time. $10,000/hour

That's punishment enough..

13. Then Bush will issue a commutation of the probation
cause it's just too mean.

NOT EVEN COMMUNITY SERVICE! Which I would make the little shit serve in a VA hospital.

That would be perfect. Let Fibby empty the bed pans and tubes/bags attached to our soldiers' blown up body parts. Actually, that would be too good a community service job for that BushCo team playing liar.

24. Don't forget electronic monitoring
Instead of the ankle bracelet Paris Hilton had to keep her confined to her house, why not secure one of those neck transmitters they use to track caribou herds in Alaska. Then all Libby's movements could be tracked on the internet. An example is this one maintained by NOAA: Tagging of Pacific Pelagics (ocean-living creatures). Or they could glue a webcam to his forehead so we can see who comes to see him.

9. Does he report to a parole officer? What happens if he violates it?
Oh, wait. Nothing happens.

I just want to be where judges hang out today, that's all.

Here's a question: Is there anything Bush could do that would be too much for Scalia?

20. Grant him immunity
and subpoena his testimony before congress. The President wins because the Democrats in Congress help him to win.

Libby will be pardoned pretending as if he won't be is nonsensical.
