New Year, New Texas Laws


A new year is just around the corner, and that means some new laws for Texans. Come this Thursday, January 1st, women seeking abortions will have to wait 24-hours before having the procedure. During this waiting period, they'll be given state-approved materials regarding fetal development and risks associated with abortion and full-term
pregnancy.

i don't know for sure, but i suspect another problem will be that texas is not exactly teeming with abortion providers. for a low income woman living in a rural area, just making it to a location where the procedure can be performed can be a real challenge.

being pro-choice, but also believing that abortion should be rare, i just don't see anything positive about this.
