Four U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq - military
15 Jun 2007 07:38:23 GMT

BAGHDAD, June 15 (Reuters) - Four U.S. soldiers were
killed on Thursday in Iraq, three when a roadside bomb hit
their vehicle in the northern province of Kirkuk, the U.S.
military said on Friday.

The fourth soldier was shot dead during operations in Diyala
province north of Baghdad, the military said. U.S. troops
are battling al Qaeda militants and Sunni Arab insurgent
groups in the region.

The deaths mean 3,518 U.S. troops have now died since the
March 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Last month was the
third worst for U.S. military deaths, which totalled 122,
while nearly 2,000 Iraqi civilians were killed, according to
Iraqi estimates.

2. 5 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq
BAGHDAD - Five U.S. soldiers died in Iraq, the U.S. military announced Friday, including three who were killed in an explosion near their vehicle.

All five were assigned to Task Force Lightning, the military said.

Three were conducting operations Thursday in Kirkuk province in northern Iraq when a bomb exploded near their vehicle, the military said in a statement. Another soldier was wounded in the blast, it said.

A fourth soldier was killed by small arms fire the same day in Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, another statement said.

Another soldier died Wednesday in a non-combat related incident, which the military said it was investigating.

12. Petraeus doesn't care about his subordinates killed daily
A true war criminal like gangster Cheney, he only dreams of statues being erected in his honor on the streets of DC and millions made after he retires

He however is smart enough to know that he will end up on the SCRAP HEAP like recently deposed gen (FU)pace if he doesn't stop the civil war in Iraq-Nam

14. Gates: U.S. missile plan in Europe a go
Source: AP

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the Bush administration is not willing to replace its plan for a missile defense system in Eastern Europe with Russia's counterproposal for a radar site in Azerbaijan.

That's the blunt message Gates was to deliver to Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov during a private meeting Friday at the NATO gathering in Brussels.

Speaking to reporters Thursday, Gates said that despite strident Russian opposition, the U.S. will proceed with its plans for a radar system in the Czech Republic to watch for missile threats and 10 interceptor rockets in Poland to shoot down any missiles.

Gates dismissed any notion that Russia's push for joint use of a radar station in Azerbaijan could replace the broader U.S. plan. And he expressed doubts that there could be any agreement with the Russians by next month, when President Bush is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at Kennebunkport, Maine.

16. we already have the middle east imploding, is bush TRYING to start WWIII?
good gawd... Afghanistan is in tatters with Taliban taking over. Iraq's surge is a total cluster, unless you count the "surge" in filled bodybags as a mark of success. The Israel/Palestine "peace process" was dealt another body blow with Palesting splitting into two warring states. The neocons are banging the drum for war with Iran.

And now bush is playing chicken with Russia.

19. Duty? Sacrifice? Honor? Moral soundness?....

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.
