Bush arrives in Poland for talks focused on missile shield 40 minutes ago

GDANSK, Poland (AFP) - US President George W. Bush arrived in Poland Friday for talks with his Polish counterpart Lech Kaczynski, which are expected to focus on Washington's plan to house defensive missiles in Poland.

The US presidential aircraft, Air Force One, touched down at Gdansk airport shortly after 4:20 pm (1420 GMT).

A tieless Bush and his wife, Laura, wearing a black dress suit, were given a red carpet welcome by Kaczynski and his wife, Maria.

Shortly after 4:30 pm, the two heads of state boarded separate helicopters for the short flight to the Baltic Sea resort of Jurata, where hours earlier Polish police had scuffled with a group of around 100 anti-Bush protesters.

3. I realize it's somewhat impertinent to ask this, but here goes:
Did We the People ask Bush to push a highly expensive, dubiously effective, deliberately provocative Star Wars scheme in his trips through Europe?

Don't we have a say in this?

6. Neither did we here in Poland
ask our government to make us a sitting-duck target with the missile installation. In Poland and in the Czech Republic polls show about 70% opposition to the idea. Guess what, we don't count. The gvt line is "secret military matters are for the government to decide, not the sheeple".

7. Probably took a peek
at some prisoners in some medieval dungeon by the CIA, to give some helpful hints on interrogation. Also, to check on the Tinky Winky probe.
