Officials mum on plane in Bush no-fly zone

Sunday, May 20, 2007

By Tim Woods

Tribune-Herald staff writer

Aviation and law enforcement officials were mum Saturday about a small plane that was apparently forced from the skies near President Bush’s ranch by two Air Force fighter jets Saturday morning.

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration and the McGregor Executive Airport, where the yellow plane landed, said they knew nothing about any plane being forced down because of entering restricted air space near the Bush ranch, just west of Crawford.

McGregor police also said they knew nothing about the incident or whether it even occurred. However, two Air Force jets appeared to be forcing a small plane away from the airspace around the ranch Saturday morning.

A no-fly zone of anywhere from 10 to 15 miles is in effect at President Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch when the president is staying.

PLANE FORCED DOWN

Updated: May 19, 2007 9:25pm
Two fighter jets forced down a plane that violated airspace near President Bush's ranch on Saturday morning.

The crop-duster was forced to land at the McGregor Executive Airport just off Highway 84 in McLennan County.

McGregor police also arrived on scene to interview the pilot. There's still no word on why the pilot was in the restricted airspace.

2. So, if your cultivated land is within 15 miles of the pig farm...

...too bad, so sad. You may not tend to your crops by means of cropduster, I guess.

"You know, if you find a person that you've never seen before getting in a crop-duster that doesn't belong to you, report it."(The freaking idiot, at a press conference, on Oct. 11, 2001)

12. "no word on why the pilot was in the restricted airspace" Maybe he was spraying crops?
What, I am supposed to let my crops get eaten up now because his pissypants is in town? It seems that some accomodation could be made for registered crop dusters. These guys are very tightly regulated. It should be a simple matter to know who is spraying where.

Cropduster Manual Discovered
Saturday, Sep. 22, 2001 By MASSIMO CALABRESI AND SALLY DONNELLY

New York --
U.S. law enforcement officials have found a manual on the operation of cropdusting equipment while searching suspected terrorist hideouts, government sources tell TIME magazine in an issue out on Monday, Sept. 24th.

The discovery has added to concerns among government counterterrorism experts that the bin Laden conspirators may have been planning — or may still be planning —to disperse biological or chemical agents from a cropdusting plane normally used for agricultural purposes.

Among the belongings of suspected terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui, sources tell TIME, were manuals showing how to operate cropdusting equipment that could be used to spray fast-killing toxins into the air.

had already wrecked once--what a dangerous job. Hope he's still around!

11. Air Force
I find it hard to believe that the Air Force that I was in a few years back can find a
small crop dusting airplane, but fail to find and intercept 4 or more hijacked jumbo jets
on 9/11.........................makes you wonder what really went on.

13. You are exactly correct
It is rather easy though, if one lets oneself, to review the events of that day, and connect the dots to deduce what happened.

The problem is, most Americans do not want to acknowledge the Elephant In The Room.

It's simply too big for them to think about.

They would rather continue living in the fantasyland of the Official Story.
