Giuliani gave to Planned Parenthood
Source: The Politico

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani in his campaign appearances this year has stated that he personally abhors abortion, even though he supports keeping a legal right to choose. But records show that in the '90s he contributed money at least six times to Planned Parenthood, one of the country's leading abortion rights groups and its top provider of abortions.

Federal tax returns made public by the former New York mayor show that he and his then-wife, Donna Hanover, made personal donations to national, state and city chapters of Planned Parenthood totaling $900 in 1993, 1994, 1998 and 1999.

2. He supported PP and their health care and family planning for women
Oh, the shame of it all. I guess he now realizes the GOP is into barefoot and pregnant women. They got a few stooges appointed to the Supreme Court who agrees that women...are "only" women and "just" a vessel for their progeny.

3. He gone.
I was a little worried that fundy wingnuts would fall in line despite his record of social liberalism, because of his authoritarianism. But there is no way they'll accept someone who is practically a Democrat when it comes to choice.

4. Rudy just lost the primary.
Can't get the Republican nomination without the bible bangers, and they hate Planned Parenthood even more than they hate women generally.

5. Not necessarily
Remember, California has moved its primary up to February. Giuliani could very well take the GOP ticket, especially since the California GOP has limited participation to registered Repubs only.

6. PP does provide other services
it's an honorable organization and I applaud him for supporting them. Men can go there for STD testing. Too bad he's going to lose the primary.
