Southern California faces another grocery strike
Source: Central Valley Business Times

Three of the largest supermarket chains in Southern California are faced with a strike as contract talks with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union break off.

The union says it canceled the negotiations after the three chains – Albertson’s Vons and Ralph’s – announced they would aid each other in the event of a strike.

"The supermarkets are up to their old tricks," says Shaun Barclay, UFCW international vice president, in written remarks Thursday.

The three supermarket chains agreed Wednesday to lock out employees if any of the three chains was struck.

4. Local news is reporting that talks are still going on, and both sides are hopeful.
God, I hope they don't have to strike again. The chains tried VERY hard to break the union last time around. If they do, I'll support them again. My shopping will be limited to Trader Joe's and the farmers market.

5. Gosh, this worked so well last time.
Of course, it is great for non-chain markets.
