Car bomb kills five in Baghdad after curfew lifted


BAGHDAD, March 23 (Reuters) - Five people were killed and 20 wounded on Friday when a car bomb exploded in the Baghdad Shi'ite stronghold of Sadr City, police said.

The blast took place minutes after the expiry of a weekly four-hour vehicle curfew that is aimed at protecting worshippers during Friday prayers. It was not clear whether the vehicle had been parked before the curfew or placed there afterwards.
