BOMBSHELL: White House Security Chief Reveals -- No Probe of Plame Leak There

NEW YORK Dr. James Knodell, director of the Office of Security at the White House, told a congresisonal committee today that he was aware of no internal investigation or report into the leak of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame.

The White House had first opposed Knodell testifying but after a threat of a subpoena from the committee yesterday he was allowed to appear today.

Knodell has testified that those who had participated in the leaking of classified information were required to attest to this and he was aware that no one, including Karl Rove, had done that.

He said that he had started at the White House in August 2004, a year after the leak, but his records show no evidence of a probe or report there: "I have no knowledge of any investigation in my office," he said.

2. more:
<snip>

Rep. Waxman recalled that President Bush had promised a full internal probe. Knodell repeated that no probe took place, as far as he knew, and was not happening today.

Knodell said he had "no" conversations whatsoever with the president, vice president, Karl Rove or anyone about the leak.

Asked by chairman Rep. Henry Waxman if he knew this was an issue of concern, he said "yes." Asked if he learned this from the White House or the press, he said, "through the press."

12. Bush really sit in a bubble and knows nothing.
I almost fell over hearing these Congress men and what they got from the WH guy. Poor guy must be the son of some rich friend of Bush and has nothing inside his head. Hopeless along with madness.

11. Both
Off with the heads of members of the administration. Hang the treasonous bastards of the right wing noise machine. And, lets do pay per view. All executions will be done in front of the capitol in DC and the bodies will be on display for three days. People who voted for bush twice will be forced to march past the bodies and see what evil they perpetrated on our country.

427375, Press knew Bush WH wasn't investigating Plame outing and still PROTECTED him
Posted by blm on Fri Mar-16-07 12:29 PM

when Kerry brought it up throughout the campaign. How often did Kerry say that Bush couldn't even find the leaker in the WH so how could we trust him to search for Bin Laden? Just about every appearance he made I heard that point made in some form.

Why did the corporate media refuse to take up that question throughout the entire campaign?

The media ALREADY knew the WH was lying about their involvement, but why did they choose to look the other way after Bush specifically said the WH would investigate who leaked and hold them accountable? The questions for WH security chief today about the promised investigation shouldn't have had to be asked by Waxman today - it should've been asked EVERYDAY throughout 2003 and 2004 by the WH presscorps.

Media never PRESSED Bush or his spokespeople throughout that time on this investigation. THAT is why the lies about it never mattered to them.

The next investigation needs to be about the COMPLICITY of the media in this entire matter.

Time for corporate media to be held accountable for their part in protecting the White House for so long on this matter.

20. WH said would not seek internal probe or investigation Sept 2003
Monday, September 29, 2003

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House will cooperate with the Justice Department in its initial inquiry into who leaked the classified identity of a CIA operative, but will not launch an internal probe and will not ask for an independent investigation, a spokesman said Monday.

The CIA operative in question, Valerie Plame, is the wife of a former U.S. ambassador who had been critical of the Bush administration's handling of intelligence on Iraq.

"The president believes leaking classified information is a very serious matter and it should be pursued to the fullest extent by the appropriate agency and the appropriate agency is the Department of Justice," White House press secretary Scott McClellan told reporters.

He said the White House would cooperate with any probe, but said the Justice Department has not made any requests for information.

The Justice Department would not comment on whether it is looking into the case. National security adviser Condoleezza Rice confirmed Sunday the Justice Department was asked to look into the matter.

There was no reason to do so, as they had ordered this hatchet job on Wilson

22. well, it is surprising to many -
because no one was paying attention.

But all of this crap has always been "hidden in plain sight".

Only if you watch, understand and know that nothing matters to these criminals can one understand the depth of depravity and craven negligence of their non-disclosure disclosures.

So, if you weren't watching, Surprise!

If you were watching - SSDD
