Bush Says Medical Neglect Of Troops Will Not Be Tolerated

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush said Wednesday that the bipartisan panel he named to investigate problems at the nation's military and veterans hospitals would work to restore confidence in the system of caring for wounded U.S. troops and helping them move back into military or civilian life.

"Any report of medical neglect will be taken seriously by this administration," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with co-chairmen of the panel, former Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan., and Donna Shalala, who was secretary of health and human services during the Clinton administration.

"I'm confident that this commission will bring forth the truth," Bush said.

9. Tolerated from day one
bush and cheney would rather those troops have died on the battlefield. Easier to deal with then all this messy Hospital stuff. I just love the honesty and compassion of today's "christian conservatives."

And I won't tolerate the outing of a CIA agent! By gawd I'll fire anyone who was involved. The ultimate blah, blah, blaher.

....to actively and consciously destroy the entire VA system of support.

Support the Troops Act we will call it.

and substandard treatment once you're back.

You just can't beat a deal like that.

He says that like it's still a topic for debate. The truth is already out and the truth is he not only tolerates troop neglect, he's responsible for it.

take the heat off until it becomes an old story, when everyone has forgotten the facts and outrage...The bullshit 9-11 commission, the Abu Ghraib commission, the Katrina commission, the WMD commission and how many other "commissions" has Bush gotten away with? Now this bullshit "Medical Neglect" commission.... People keep falling for the same lies & tactics and never where the real accountability lies...with Bush and his greedy lying incompetent fascist imperialist administration.

24. It will not be tolerated. In fact... it will be REWARDED!
That's why the people who were FIXING the problem were FIRED... and the people RESPONSIBLE for the problem were PROMOTED.

Conditions in Building 18 were DELIBERATELY bad, so that they could use them as a weapon to intimidate wounded veterans into settling for a lower disability rating before being discharged.

I would like these assholes to have to go to Iraq and observe, up close and personal, the wounded coming in to the field hospitals. Then, I'd like to send them out in some of those fine armored vehicles to tour Baghdad without backup.

39. Yeah right and he was going to rebuild New Orleans too.
Bush has no intention of doing anything more than slapping coat of paint on the most photogenic problems and even if he wanted to do something the inherent incompetence of his administration would no doubt make a hash of it while handing over even more taxpayers money to well connected contractors.
