The city council of New York has voted to ban the use of the word "nigger".

The resolution to ban the so-called "N-word" is largely symbolic as it carries no weight in law and those who use the word would face no punishment.

Songs, speech, whatever, even the ugliest of words are not permitted to be banned in this country, with some debatable exceptions for "shouting FIRE in a theater" types of situations, threatening the president (unless you are a republican threatening a democrat), and the government licensed broadcast system.

Amongst many others I do not use that word. I also try to avoid the most common geneder slurs although Ann Coulter does make it difficult.

But no law can stop me from using it if I wish.
