Federal Courthouse to Be Named 'Rush Limbaugh' (Grandfather of Rush)
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/1/22/141106.shtml

Legislation has been introduced in Congress to name a new U.S. courthouse in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, after Rush Limbaugh.

Yes, it’s true – but it’s not for the Rush Limbaugh America loves as its No. 1 radio talker.

The honoree, in fact, would be the popular radio host’s grandfather and namesake, the late Rush Hudson Limbaugh Sr.

The elder Limbaugh practiced law for nearly 80 years until his death in 1996, arguing more than 60 cases before the Missouri Supreme Court. He also served as president of the Missouri Bar and chaired an American Bar Association special committee on the Bill of Rights.

10. No.
I met him while doing some work for the Limbaugh, Russell and Syler. He was kind, knowledgeable, and very supportive of his staff. He also bore no physical resemblance to Piggy.

11. Maybe they ought to put a sign on the courthouse
Rush Limbaugh Courthouse - No not that Rush Limbaugh!

Or put it up with a portait of Sr so everyone knows it's not named after OxyRush!

12. How about a sign that says "No, not the a-hole!"
Edited on Mon Jan-22-07 04:51 PM by calipendence
Then everyone would be able to keep straight which Limpbaugh they're talking about, unless of course they're both a-holes, which then begs the question of why they're naming it for him in the first place!

18. How many of these people
Cape Girardeau, Missouri? How many practiced law at all (let alone for 80 years) and argued any cases before the Missouri supreme court? If they build a new theater, sure, name it after a performer, director or choreographer. If they build a new sports stadium, sure, name it after an athlete. I don't really have an issue with this, and I doubt almost anyone else would if Pigboy was going by the name Jeff Christie now.

20. My grandfather is at least as eligible as this Limbaugh....
As a young state legislator he introduced the Women's Suffrage Amendment for ratification by the Missouri legislature, and he also served as a federal judge for many years with distinction. It's hard to see how this Judge Limbaugh is any more deserving, really.

35. The main reason is probably...
Because Cape Girardeau is where Limbaugh lived (and where Pigboy was born). If it's such a tiny town, I wonder why they put a federal courthouse, there, though.

it was like listening to a history lesson of the country,it was really an amazing interview.there is no reason why he should`t have a courthouse named after him.
