1. Kansan here
You guys really want him to run. Trust me. He is a fucking fruitloop of the highest order. His nomination will cause the republican party to implode.

So RUN SAM RUN!!!

6. Maybe if both parties implode...
...you guys can start all over fresh. We've been having a bit of partisan flux up here in Canada, and it hasn't been completely a bad thing. It's made politics kind of interesting, even if I dislike the most recent results.

9. I just might agree with that
But I do think Sam is much more damaging to his peeps than Hillary is to ours. Maybe because I have been able to watch Sam all these years. But he is as nutty as they come.

34. hillary may not be the ideal candidate but....
how much dirt can they repubs throw at her that hasn't already been exposed and i grew up wit a clinton in the white house and my formative years were ones of peace and prosperity so i can't think of something more awesome as having billy boy clinton back in the white house, even as the first-first husband.

27. I'm with you on this one...
I think Brownback is relying too much on the rapid, right-wing fundies. David Kuo told us that Bush and Rove thought the fundies were "nuts," "goofy," and "out of control." This has got to sting and I predict that many of the religio-wackos will avoid pompous, self-righteous politicos like Brownback in order to not get stung again.

But then again, I could be wrong...

4. So many choices
Sam Brownback, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Tommy Thompson, John McCave.

What's a red-blooded racist angry white male to do?

I'm impressed, the Repubs have quite a lineup of heavyweights there.

As Repuke candidate, he would be the final nail in their coffin.

Browneye is the weirdest of the weird.

12. Thanks!
Some of our Kansas DUers even know him personally.

Our local blogs have been just buzzing over him lately. Every time anyone mentions his candidacy on line, I reply "RUN SAM RUN!"

And the righties here go back and forth for days arguing about him. Now if his own home state peeps aren't behind him 100% (not even 50% for that matter), I say he is the perfect republican candidate. LOL

Yeah, I was chatting with, I believe, MuseRider . . . she knows him. She is just stunned by how out of touch with reality the dude is.

Maybe someday I'll get to meet you KC area DU'ers. My arthritis is bad now, but maybe come summer . . .

B-)

8. Did you hear his comment to the young lady on the stage?
As he walked up to the podium and was greeting each person on the stage, he got to the young woman in white and said, "this ought to get you some dates". WTF kind of statement is that?
:wtf:

11. You Bet - Check out what Joe in DC @ AmericaBlog says about this clown....

Meanwhile, in Topeka, one of the most gay-obsessed members of Congress, Sam Brownback, is announcing that he's running for President.
With McCain tanking, who knows.
Brownback is a darling of the true theocrats:

"Brownback, he's a known commodity," said Carrie Gordon Earll, a senior director at the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Focus on the Family.
"Some of the other people who've thrown their hat in the ring, there's debate.
Have they always been pro-life? Nobody questions Sam Brownback."

Brownback's causes have included restoring a "family hour" to television, an amendment to the Constitution banning same-sex marriage and legislation to prohibit human cloning and embryonic stem-cell research.
He truly represents the GOP.
He'd make a terrific nominee.

Gee...a "family hour" on television.
That will solve all of our problems!

Hi LIB!

21. "Brownback For the 19th Century"
Take all the money you were going to give to Hil/Barack/Edwards/Clark and send it to "Brownback For President". Having this doofus on the ballot in 08 would be better for the Dems than re-animating JFK.

22. I'm sure the Dobson droids are delighted.
But Brownback is dangerous because he represents a potent constituency whose express intent is to impose their private limitations onto public policy.

The guy gives me the creeps.

24. Hi, rosebud57. Agree. The Danforth Republicans aren't
interested in voting for a Sam Brownback.

It doesn't sound like you and I are, either.

I'd just love it if the GOP split and Brownback ran as a 3rd-party nutcase candidate. That would all but ensure a Democratic win in 08.

They are just loud, not plentiful. And the moderates can't deal with Sam. He can't win without them.

So let him run!!

Looking after the interests of spoiled millionaire offspring of filthy rich dead people is the only thing that gets Sam all riled up.
