Dean Hails Passage Of The House Democrats' "100-Hours Agenda"
January 19, 2007

Today, House Democrats passed legislation to end big tax breaks for oil companies. With this important work done, House Democrats fulfilled their promise to pass sweeping legislation to help millions of hard-working American families. These measures included allowing the government to negotiate prices with prescription drug companies to benefit America's seniors, enacting the important recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to keep our country secure, cutting student loan interest rates in half to help our nation's students, raising the minimum wage for millions of hard-working Americans, and passing measures to help advance stem cell research.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement congratulating Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats on passage of their "100 Hours Agenda":

"Democrats have kept their promise to tackle some of the biggest issues facing millions of hard-working American families and move America in a new direction. Democrats are off to an excellent start, accomplishing more for America's families in one month than Republicans did in two years. We call on Congressional Republicans and President Bush to get behind the people's agenda and support these bi-partisan bills that work for all Americans."

3. I don't think it is, I mean as the webposters said "The Tea is in the Harbor."
Dean made a serious splash where it mattered in terms of ideology and insider power, money and messaging, its undeniable in its temerity. And then he was practically carried on the arms of his machine to the Chairmanship of the party that just won Congress(Eat it Rahm!). I don't think there's anything far fetched about doing reasonable progressive things in good character as fast as you possibly can, and it can be shamefully slow. But at the end of the day Tom Delay is in exile and Saddam Hussein is in a grave and Americans are still dying in Iraq for a horrific lie. Howard is people powered, and the people are winning on the judges cards in the 8th round.
