FBI arrests 3 men trying to enter Port of Miami
"MIAMI - Authorities detained three men who were caught Sunday trying to slip past security at the Port of Miami, an FBI spokeswoman said.

A truck driver raised suspicions when he made inconsistent statements at the port’s delivery entrance, FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said.

“At some point he said he was alone,” she said." However, police stopped the truck and found two more men in the truck cab, she said.

The men, all of Middle Eastern descent, were in the country legally and do not appear on any terrorist watch list, Orihuela said."

13. Apparently those bombers/mass murderers, like the one pardoned by Bush's father,
are just A.-O.K. with us. He is walking the streets of Miami, one of which was NAMED FOR HIM by the Miami City Commissioners, a free mass murderer. His cohort in mass murder and bombing, Luis Posada Carriles may one day arrive back in town in exactly the same condition. He'd probably be there right now, had his pride not gotten the best of him, causing him to give a press conference, thereby obligating federal authorities to arrest him.

OR you may be referring to the "exile" assassins who murdered Chilean diplomat, Orlando Letelier, his American assistant, Ronnie Moffit, and wounded her American husband in broad daylight in Washington, D.C. Dubya gave THEM an early release after they served only a very, very FEW years in prison.

Or maybe you mean any of the OTHER bombers, assassins, drug dealers, former Iran-Contra figures running lose there!

As soon as I saw the headline I jumped to the conclusion it had to be a Haitian! They all get deported on sight, and returned to that slaughter house Bush created in Haiti.

Terror Suspects Had No Explosives and Few Contacts
Sears Tower Plan Never Finished, Authorities Say

By Peter Whoriskey and Dan Eggen
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, June 24, 2006; A03

MIAMI, June 23 -- Federal authorities announced charges here Friday against seven men they described as "a homegrown terrorist cell" that planned to blow up Chicago's Sears Tower and other buildings. But officials conceded that the group never had contact with al-Qaeda or other terrorist groups and had not acquired any explosives.

The group, which operated from a small, warehouse-like building in Miami's impoverished Liberty City neighborhood, adhered to a vague and militant Islamic ideology, claimed the U.S. government had no authority over it, and was led by a charismatic Haitian American named Narseal Batiste, according to officials and the four-count indictment. All but one of the members were citizens or legal residents of the United States.

The case underscores the murkiness that has been common to many of the government's terrorism-related prosecutions since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, cases that often hinge on ill-formed plots or debatable connections to terrorism. It is also the latest in a series of FBI-run stings involving informants or government agents who pose as terrorists to build a case.

"There was never any imminent danger to the Sears Tower or Chicago," Cline said.

8. Yep.....Bushies keep telling us we have to fight them over there so they
don't follow us over here. And, just in time when Congress is fighting back on supplying more troops for the "surge."

Guess it's just a coincidence that these two have "Iraqi Backgrounds."

It's hard not to be suspicious since the news broke during the Sunday shows that were filled with articulate Democrats who were united in their message of "NO SURGE!"

Probably not hard to find some folks to stowaway with some ties to Iraq just when it's needed. After all this is the Imperial Presidency that can order up anything in "secret" and get away with it. Plus it's been their habit to to do "cry wolfs" whenever things aren't going their way with "threats" that have turned out to be not what they were reported on the first go round.

Security high at Port of Miami after alleged entry attempt
POSTED: 2:22 p.m. EST, January 7, 2007
Story Highlights
• FBI says three in custody after attempt to enter Port of Miami illegally
• Cargo area of port closed temporarily; passenger side remains open
• Sources say the those detained are of Iraqi, Lebanese descent
• FBI: One was driving truck without proper papers; others were hidden in trailer
,,,,,,,

Federal law enforcement sources described the three as being of Middle-Eastern descent. The driver was described as being of Iraqi descent and one of the other men appeared to be of Lebanese descent, the sources said.

One of them was driving an 18-wheeler and was stopped at the entrance for not having the proper license to drive onto the property, FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela told CNN.

Miami-Dade police conducted a secondary search after the driver gave inconsistent answers, the FBI said. The driver also allegedly said he was alone in the truck. During the search, two other people were found in the cargo container, the FBI said.

No federal charges are pending, according to the FBI. Authorities did not know whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement is considering charges or whether the three are in the United States legally.

Closed airports, subways (not the chain) and now the FBI is getting in on the act capturing Men of Middle Eastern descent. I think the next two years you are going to see nothing but these kind of stories.

16. False Alarm
3 detained trying to enter Port of Miami

<snip>

"Miscommunication led to the detainment of three men at the Port of Miami on Sunday after authorities became suspicious of their documentation and the contents of their cargo truck, officials said.

Authorities initially said the men — two Iraqis and one Lebanese national who are legal permanent U.S. residents — had been caught trying to slip past a checkpoint at the port's entrance."

<snip>

""Due to a miscommunication between the gate security personnel and the truck driver, we believe there was a discrepancy in the number of people in the vehicle attempting to enter the Port of Miami," Goldberg said. "This, and the fact that one of the individuals did not have any form of ID raised our level of concern."

"Maybe it could have been a language barrier; we don't know at this point," she said.

The three men remained in police custody for questioning, Goldberg said. They had not been arrested or charged by Sunday afternoon.

The men do not appear on any terrorist watch list, said Barbara Gonzalez, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman.

The truck's contents — electrical automotive parts in a 40-foot container — matched the driver's cargo manifest, Goldberg said."
