Report: Obama Calling Fundraisers, Lining Up Support
May be the strongest indication yet that he is running.

http://www.nbc5.com/politics/10684769/detail.html

There's a new sign that Sen. Barack Obama is going to run for president.

Crain's Chicago Business is reporting that the senator has been calling some of Chicago's biggest Democratic fundraisers to line up support.

Sources said his hometown backers include the mayor's brother, Bill Daley, former Alderman Bill Singer, real estate developer Neil Bluhm and Penny Pritzker.

1. Will Obama form an exploratory committee?
That's the next step he must take.

3. Yeah, all things being equal, I'd get behind my senator as well..BUT I'm really
holding out for Al Gore. If he runs, then all bets are off.

8. Why didn't we support Rumsfield?
He was once one of ours, an Illinois representative. :sarcasm:

I keep forgetting this, selective memory I think, and every time I have to look up his bio there it is. Uggggggggh, I am so proud of our two senators, that I keep trying to forget about the repubs we have in the house. :(

Back to the subject at hand. Yeah, I'll support our senator if he runs. Not pushing him yet. ;-) Will have to wait until he runs for that to become a choice.

4. Obama needs seasoning.
Experience. I suspect that the electorate will communicate that to him as well.

It might be too early in his career for this move, and that could leave a mark.

5. I still hold a small bit of hope for Gore but, I have decided he isn't
going to run. If he was I'd be there. I love gore.
I see the experience thing as fighting with striking while the iron is hot.
In 4 years he won't be the star he is now. Take advantage.

11. Seasoning like Joey L. or GW Bush or Cheney?

:sarcasm:

I'll wait for the candidates to show they have INTELLIGENCE and COMPASSION and a FINE Plan for America.

Someone with INTELLIGENCE can select a staff and a Cabinet do do their work for the good of America.

OBAMA is as ready as the "seasoned" Joey L.

7. Hope he is.
If neither Wes Clark nor Al Gore end up running, I'll likely be supporting Obama.

10. Hillary is afraid of him
fundraiser with Murdoch earlier this year, then Faux news runs a story about Sen. Obama smoking pot as a youth. The smear started early by Hillary. I have no proof of her being behind that story, but she knows how the game is played.
