Edited on Thu Jan-04-07 09:26 PM by Mark E. Smith
NEW YORK, Jan. 4, 2007

including dealing with the situation in Iraq.

Sixty-eight percent of those polled said they had optimistic feelings about the 110th
Congress, which will be led by Democrats for the first time in 12 years. Just 25 percent
said they were pessimistic.

Nealy half expect that this Congress will accomplish more than usual over the next two
years.

I guess all the Bush family references this week to Richard Nixon had an underlying
theme. After all, Georgie's approval numbers now rival Tricky Dick's at their worst.

3. Somehow, the corporate media has avoided the 20's, which is easily where gwb lands in approval.
You know, Nixon hit the 20's. And, he never had the approval ratings and support of the nation the way gwb did after 9/11. (granted, the majority of us had the sneaking suspicion, but gwb got the f***ing benefit of the doubt).

Ah, not only the 20's loom, we are headed toward the teens.
