New Iraq army hit by resignations
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 09:22 AM by MrBenchley
"US plans to create a new Iraqi army have suffered a setback after hundreds of recruits resigned.
The army's first 700-man battalion lost 300 troops who were within weeks of being deployed, Pentagon officials say.
The battalion is the only one trained so far for what is eventually hopted to be a 40,000-strong force.
The US-led coalition in Iraq has played down the incident, saying it was just a dispute over pay and many more men were ready to join up.
However the BBC's Nick Childs at the Pentagon says the resignations will make for red faces in Washington. "

Three possibilities:

--The Iraqis are paying homage to the Great White Father in Washington and his famous military service record, and are somewhere flat on their faces drunk and coked, waiting for their fathers to put in the fix and wrangle them honorable discharges...

or

--The Iraqis have figured out that this unelected drunk is going to bug out before the election and don't want to get stuck holding the bag...

or

--pResident Turd just armed and trained hundreds of new terrorists on the US taxpayer's dime.

Spread the word...it's Dumbya that's unelectable.

1. Well, they're obviously 'ungrateful'
For Pete's Sake, if you can earn almost $60/month, that means that you only have to work for a day and a half to pay for a gallon of gas from Halliburton! What's wrong with these people? I mean, it's such a good job, what with being able to live on the wild side, risking your life each and every day... I can't believe they're not satisfied and want to quit!

2. Maybe if they'd have gotten a visit from the
Turkey from Halliburton too, they'd have stayed....

3. $60 a month, and a good chance that you could get shot up
by the people on your side, the US soldiers?

Damn, sign me up! NOT!!!!
