Good Retail News Tempered by Job Worries
Looks more like a job less recovry ie a good old fashioned plutocracy.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. retailers enjoyed a merry start to the holidays with a rise in sales in November, government data showed on Thursday, but a jump in initial claims for jobless benefits tempered the season's cheer.

Heading into the key Christmas shopping season, U.S. retail sales posted a better-than-expected 0.9 percent increase in November, boosted by surging auto and electronics sales, the Commerce Department (news - web sites) said on Thursday.


In a separate report from the Labor Department (news - web sites), first-time claims for unemployment benefits rose in the week ended Dec. 6, to 378,000, contrary to analysts' expectations for a fall
