More troops to Iraq - Australia
Prime Minister John Howard is reportedly considering lifting Australia's troop numbers in Iraq.

It follows discussions in the Pentagon about adding to America's 140,000 soldiers in Iraq as part of attempts to curb violence and support the country's fledging democracy.

Australia has seven and a half thousand soldiers in Iraq.

News Limited papers report possible options being considered include sending a special forces attachment to Baghdad, or providing more training to the Iraqi Army.

1. John Howard is apparently trying to out-asshole Bush
Lately, he has been giving the Chimp a run for his money.

Aussies, I feel sorry for you. It seems your country is on the front edge of a conservative, superiority complex wave. It swept over us in the 80's and we are suffering the backwash wave right now of the Chimp, just barely beginning to again see the shore.

I fear you Aussies have a painful lesson or two to learn before some of that dies down.
