DeLay's Texas PAC investigated
http://www.statesman.com/nation/content/auto/epaper/editions/wednesday/news_f36d5c154474404a0065.html

(Snip)
When U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay attends a fund-raiser in Austin today, the invitations to donate to his re-election campaign will warn, "No Corporate Money."

It's a timely reminder.

Just a few blocks from the event at the Inter-Continental Stephen F. Austin Hotel, a Travis County grand jury is investigating whether Texans for a Republican Majority violated state law by using corporate money to help elect state lawmakers during last year's election.

At DeLay's direction, one of his top associates set up the political action committee. DeLay was among the group's advisers and marquee names that drew $1.5 million in donations, including about $600,000 from corporations.

(End Snip)

Jeeez...Tom DeLay doing something illegal? Perish the thought. :7;-)

1. It would be wonderful to believe that...
This will take down that sordid and vile little man. But it won't. I daresay he could have carnal knowledge of dogs in the US Capitol Rotunda and nothing would happen.

3. If this blows up, the minons will take the hit for "Hot Tub Tom".
But, over time, this may have some cumulative effect. It might make him give up some leadership functions. Plus, anytime his name is dragged through the mud, a smile breaks out on my face. :D

We all know the current incumbent is pretty fixated on bestiality. :eyes:

11. I am familiar with the republican worries about Senator on dog sex, but
this is the first I have heard that there may be some concern about Congressman on dog sex. Although it would not qualify as beastiality, DeLay really should be someone's prison bitch.

5. hammer this one
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A57541-2003May14?language=printer

But after the main course, DeLay went into "hammer" mode, trying to compel manager Tom Khandker to flout federal regulations and lift the ban. We hear the conversation went something like this:

Khandker: "I'm sorry, sir, but this is a federal building, and it's against the law of the federal government."

DeLay: "I am the federal government."

8. If Not This Time, Then Later
I am convinced that Tom De Lay's arrogance and flouting of what he sees as old rigamarole will eventually lead to his downfall. I'm sceptical that this instance will be enough to bring indictments, but I wouldn't expect to see him or his aides pulling in their horns. Sooner or later they'll be what so many Tammany Hall politicos were in days of yore: ripe targets for an intelligent, hard-working prosecutor. Just give them enough rope to hang themselves...

10. DeLay wallpapers his house with indictments
This guy has even been charged under RICO - and he always skates! DeLay makes John Gotti look like Mr. Rogers.

He is on the top of my Christmas list as one I'd love to see brought to justice someday.

12. Tom Delay is a piece of sh!t !
Edited on Wed Dec-10-03 10:27 AM by bearfan454
He was one of the main criminals in the Tx redistricting illegal power grab. Hopefully the Tyler court will see there were no special circumstances to call special sessions.

13. Although a crime appears to have been committed, it was committed by
a republican. Consequently, there will be no prosecution. Besides, it was Bill Clinton's fault.

17. Today's SC decision
has made it even further illegal for Tom DeLay to do this. Time to place Tom DeLay under investigation and thrown into ethics committee for explusion. The Hammer needs to go down like a cheap whore.

20. Hi David
I believe it was Lou Dobb's who reported last night that the artificial christmas tree the Texas legislature recently erected, was made in China. He said Texans are not too pleased about it. :D :hi:
