BBC: Man 'planned massive explosions'

Man 'planned massive explosions'

A Muslim convert planned to detonate a dirty bomb and launch an attack on London's Tube, a court has been told.

Former Hindu Dhiren Barot, 34, from London, plotted "massive explosions" in a synchronised attack in the US and UK.

Barot, who last month admitted conspiracy to murder, wanted to pack limousines with gas cylinders and also use a radioactive "dirty" bomb.

Lawyers for Barot have insisted that he had neither funding nor bomb-making materials at the time he was caught.

Barot, from Kingsbury in north-west London, described by prosecutors as "a member or close associate" of al-Qaeda is to be sentenced on Tuesday.

"The plan was to carry out massive explosions here and in the USA, the principal object being to kill hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent people without warning," prosecutor Edmund Lawson QC told Woolwich Crown Court.

"Lawyers for Barot have insisted that he had neither funding nor bomb-making materials at the time he was caught."

I hope they never discover some of the places I think would be appropriate for a few bunker busters, RPGs, mortars, grenade launchers.

After all, since we can now be busted for idle thoughts when we don't have the means (or the inclination, really) to carry them out, every single one of us from kids who are mad at their parents, men who hate their mothers in law to people who are angry at the government, are breaking their laws.

Who are the brain police?

14. Actually they are fighting them in their heads, so they don't have to
face them in the real world. We're trying to win over hearts and minds. Freedom's over-rated anyway and isn't it the army with the saying Freedom isn't Free ? So let's chain up freedom and make it only accesible to people that grovel at our feet at the sight of apache attack helicopters, abrahams tanks, and stryker rapid response vehicles.

Everyone on this board sees through this bullshit, the pattern of politically-timed arrests of patsies and the string of failures when these are pursued in the Courts (thus the need to get rid of the Courts).

they mention him, and then when they're called on not apprehending the terrorist, they say that he has been marginalized. Circular logic bozos.
