GOP leader says he would've canned Foley
WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader John Boehner says he might have taken matters into his own hands if he or any GOP leader had known about ex-Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record)'s sexually explicit instant messages to former pages.

"Foley's conduct was reprehensible, abhorrent. And if any one of us would have known about this, we would have dragged him out of there by his tie," said Boehner, the current No. 2 leader in the House.

Boehner, R-Ohio, maintains he told Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., last spring about Foley's too-friendly e-mails to pages and was informed the matter was being handled.

"I believe strongly that the speaker — neither the speaker, myself or anyone knew of the sexually explicit instant messages," Boehner said. "All I was told was that there had been contact between Foley and the former page. ... I believe that I talked to the speaker about this. I believe that he told me it had been taken care of."

Still just calling them "too friendly".

1. If Boehner was SO concerned, why didn't he take action when he
saw no action by Hastert when he informed his office?

Hypocrite.

2. well, of COURSE he would have. RIght away. Once he heard. Of course.
And of course he had no responsibility or need to double check and see what "contact" meant or to make sure it was "taken care of". I mean, really! :sarcasm:

6. He still refuses to speak in absolutes.
"I believe that I talked to the speaker about this. I believe that he told me it had been taken care of."

Weasel.

The caveman "drag him out by his tie" is pure rhetoric, political posturing.

GOP leader says he would've canned Foley

By JOHN HEILPRIN, Associated Press Writer Sun Oct 29, 11:34 AM ET

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader John Boehner says he might have taken matters into his own hands if he or any GOP leader had known about ex-Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record)'s sexually explicit instant messages to former pages.

"Foley's conduct was reprehensible, abhorrent. And if any one of us would have known about this, we would have dragged him out of there by his tie," said Boehner, the current No. 2 leader in the House.

Boehner, R-Ohio, maintains he told Speaker
Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., last spring about Foley's too-friendly e-mails to pages and was informed the matter was being handled.

There has been no indication that Republican leaders knew of the sexually explicit instant messages to former male pages until the scandal became public and Foley, R-Fla., resigned at the end of the September.

11. "And here in The Republican Party, we have but one punishment for molesting the pages...
Edited on Sun Oct-29-06 06:04 PM by IanDB1
WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader John Boehner says he would have grabbed Foley with his own hands, bound him up with silk ties, and dragged him out of The Capitol Building.

Said Boehner, "Foley's conduct was reprehensible, abhorrent. Oh, wicked, bad, naughty Foley! He has been molesting the pages again. It's not the first time we've had this problem. Oh, wicked, bad, naughty, evil Foley! He is a bad person and must pay the penalty!

"And here in The Republican Party, we have but one punishment for molesting the pages: you must tie Foley down on a bed and spank him.

"You must spank Foley well. And after you have spanked him, you may deal with him as you like.

"And then... spank me," said Boehner.

After which, House Speaker Dennis Hastert added, "And spank me."

Ken Mehlman also declared, "And me!"

Soon, the Republicans all joined together in thunderous calls of, "And me!"

Boehner affirmed the consensus of the Republican party by saying, "Yes. Yes, you must give us all a good spanking! And after the spanking... the oral sex."

Mehlman, Hastert, and a chorus of other Republicans in attendance cheered, "The oral sex! The oral sex!"

14. They are desperate to save their jobs...
...and lousy hides.

If DEMs get control, and there's an honest investigation, Foley, Hastert and a whole lotta their cronies are going to jail.

15. Boehner's picture should be in the dictionary under "sleezy
used car salesman". He is so slimy - I have difficulty watching him - everything out of his mouth is a talking point lie.
