Rumsfeld studies Army readiness-VOA news release
Am I the only one feeling a draft in here?

http://www.voanews.com/article.cfm?objectID=F3B75500-8CCF-4987-887DFF94EF046108

U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the U.S. Army may have to change readiness standards due to wartime commitments around the world.

Mr. Rumsfeld was responding to press reports that as many as four Army divisions may be rated at the lowest readiness levels for as long as six months after returning home next year from deployments in Iraq.

Mr. Rumsfeld says the standards the Army uses now were defined during peacetime, not when U.S. forces were involved in fighting terrorism and conducting operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

2. Yeah...plus he should have said this...
Mr. Rumsfeld says the standards the Army uses now were defined during peacetime and based on the support of long time allies and friends around the world, not when U.S. forces were involved in fighting terrorism and conducting operations in Afghanistan and Iraq unilaterally due to a wreckless cowboy style of diplomacy that has destroyed all our former alliances and left us very alone in our time of need"

3. Recruitment standards were also changed
The goals were dropped, twice.

That's what the Bush administration excels in: bar lowering

4. How does one study Army readiness in the oil fields of Iraq?
Is Rummy studying our soldiers' "readiness" to protect his Christmas present to himself?
