This could sink all the Repukes in Colorado. It is so typical. I wouldn't doubt Rove has his hand in it.

3. And what the Rocky says:
CBI asks FBI for help in Beauprez ad probe

By Stuart Steers, Rocky Mountain News
October 18, 2006

The Colorado governor's race took a dramatic turn Wednesday, with news that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has determined someone accessed an FBI database to obtain information the Bob Beauprez campaign used in a TV ad. Using such information for purposes other than law enforcement is a violation of federal and state law.

The CBI has now asked the FBI to assist in its criminal investigation.

6. I wonder exactly what laws they don't think they could break.
Pffft, the prez got away with breaking Constitutional law, then just signed a bill shielding himself from any penalty.... a police database is just a piddly puddle to these guys.

9. Here's a pic/bio of the reporter who broke the story. Adam Schrager.
Cute, huh. :loveya: http://www.9news.com/company/bios/schrager.asp

He's one of my favorites. BTW, Kevin Corke, who wore the suit that got gwb's heart all aflutter, worked at this station, as well. He was the sportscaster and left to go to ESPN.

I emailed the station, saying how much my family would miss seeing him. He sent a nice email back, thanking me and talking about his plans to do expanded stories for ESPN. I wonder if he crossed paths with K.O. while he was there. :-)

11. Beauprez's pretty much finished here.
And he'll be facing criminal charges. I think Beauprez is lying when he said he had CI. I think he abused his authority to find out sensitive information.

13. Used an internet site and thought it was legal.
The article says the Repubs are suggesting they used an internet site to aquire the information, believing they had legal authorization to do so.

It also says that several inernet sites promise access to the NCIC database, even though it is illegal to do so.
