BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Saddam Hussein was thrown out of court
on Tuesday after an argument during his trial on charges of genocide
against Iraq's Kurdish population.
The chief judge, Mohammed Oreibi al-Khalifa, cut off the microphone
as Saddam attempted to speak, and instructed bailiffs to escort the
ex-president out of the courtroom.
Court-appointed lawyers represented Saddam and his six co-defendants,
who were in the courtroom.
