40 corpses found in Baghdad in past 24 hours

BAGHDAD, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Some 40 corpses have been found in scattered places here in the last 24 hours, an Interior ministry source said on Monday.

The source, that asked not to be identified, told KUNA the corpses that have been found were for men who have been killed in ambiguous circumstances.

It added that the corpses had scars of gun shots and were found in the areas of Kamaliya, Sideya, Husainia, Shu'ala, Saleekh, Doura and Al-Amel suburbs.

Furthermore, the death toll of Monday's blast that rocked a popular market in Shaab area in northern Baghdad rose to 13 and 40 wounded.
