US envoy admits mistakes made in Iraq rebuilding (Khalilzad)
BAQUBA • The US ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, said yesterday that US officials had been arrogant and made many mistakes during efforts to rebuild Iraq after the 2003 invasion. "It's important to recognise that mistakes have been made over the last few years. There have been times when US officials have behaved arrogantly and were not receptive to advice from local leaders," he told Iraqi officials. "We have made mistakes in the process of rebuilding Iraq," he said. "The path for success is clear. We are committed to helping Iraq stand on its own two feet," he added, speaking three-and-a-half years after US-led forces toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein.

2. Khalilzad has a very contentious relationship with Condi.
He is very independent and has the audacity to think for himself, as this quote shows.

5. Nine Billion Dollars that could have gone to fully fund Ryan White Care
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 11:10 PM by nealmhughes
Care Act at a decent level for several years and get people off of state's ADAP waiting lists is not due an apology, but a tar and feathering.

HRC's politicking over the funding was disgraceful. While NYC might have lost some money, the other areas of the state and most of the country would have lost too at the current level of funding.

I know her defenders will say she was "hanging tuff" and just politicking over a NYC issue, but the smart money says she was looking towards possible cuts in cities in Florida and Cali as well...

Why has the House and Senate not addressed a simple solution: Medicaid for everyone with HIV so that cases do not advance to AIDS, and once medication is scheduled for HAART, it is a lot more expensive for all, opportunistic diseases, etc. and good luck getting disability. This way the corporate pharmacies get to keep their monopolies on life saving drugs still!

Let the money follow the cases! Not the city, the county or the state...

The war is costing $2Billion a week right now...by the way, so the missing money is chicken feed to them, but still some Democrats play politics in desperate politics and refuse to campaign on corruption, war and health care...

OK, I'm a barn-burner, a bomb-thrower and part of Oliver's Army. Go on sue me, I've got no assets, but a wicked pen!

Oh, by the way, where is the Nine Billion Dollars?
