Allen unveils bill to help black farmers
Allen unveils bill to help black farmers

WASHINGTON - Dogged by allegations of racial insensitivity, Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record) on Thursday introduced a bill to help black farmers.

Allen, R-Va., has spent weeks rebutting accusations that he used racist language and liked Confederate symbols.

An acquaintance from college has said he used a common slur for blacks. Stories have been revived about Allen keeping a Confederate flag at home and a hangman's noose in his law office.
(snip)

Allen said the bill expands benefits from the settlement "to all African American farmers who suffered the indignity and inequality of being denied financial assistance through USDA."

I'm sure that John Deere, DeKalb, Hormel, and Bayer would be happy to take over the functions of the Department of Agriculture.

Poor George Felix Allen. I'm thinking that his "base" is not going to like this. He's already in trouble with the Son of Confederate Veterans, wait until the Freakers and David Duker's get a look at this...ahem...Affirmitive Action.

No matter what happens this November, if America sends Santorum and Allen home, I'll declare victory!

7. Do I believe my eyes!? Has MLK Jr. been reborn...
... in the form of a dumb ass redneck!? It's like Lincoln has returned to free up USDA money for black farmers. What a great humanitarian George Allen is!

Anybody that doubts the sincerity of this move is a cynical prick! :sarcasm:

Does anybody seriously believe that a white man grew up in Virginia in the 60's, 70's, and 80's and never used the "n-word"?

17. In the 60's Allen was in Illinois and California.
He didn't set foot in Virginia until he was a college sophomore in the fall of 71.

However, he was a racist long before he got to Virginia. He wore a Confederate flag pin in his high school grad. picture in Southern California and sprayed racist graffiti on the walls of the school.

Allen is a piece of work.

I'm a white man, btw. Born in 1975.

Also, George "Macaca" Allen grew up in California, not Virginia.

28. Why? Is it that he doesn't believe the stories or that
he believes them but doesn't care? I'm curious. I went to high school with George Allen. I personally saw the racist graffiti he scrawled on the walls of our high school. "Die whitey" "Fuck whitey" - made to look like the work of blacks from a rival school. Even a former school administrator has gone on the record about this saying it was racist. And that guy is a lifelong Republican.

The high school and college stuff wouldn't matter at all if Allen had gone on to change his ways as an adult. But he didn't. He named his only son for the founder of the KKK. He kept a noose in his office and a Confederate flag on the wall of his home. He insulted a young, dark-skinned man in public.

Is he voting for Allen because he thinks Allen espouses "family values"? Does he know that Allen has sealed divorce records from his first marriage that he would never want to see the light of day? Is he familiar with the book written by Allen's sister that graphically recounts his abusive behavior toward her and their other siblings? That book came out in 2000 by the way. Even his own sister had nothing good to say about the guy.

George Allen is a piece of work. If all of this, collectively, isn't enough to make your dad think twice, it's a damn shame - because he's voting for a creep who doesn't deserve the public trust and who never acts in the public interest.

He's always been a selfish asshole but when he got "saved" it got ten times worse. He votes Repuke because Dems are godless sinners and Chimp was anointed by God to lead the country (no, really). No matter what these scoundrels do, it's always "all have fallen short in the eyse of God", yet when a liberal gets in trouble for something, it's because we're heathens who have no business in government. He's also the most self-hating man I've ever had the misfortune to know, which probably accounts for his undying loyalty to these people despite the fact they would lynch him in a heartbeat. :eyes:

I gave up trying to talk sense to him years ago, there's absolutely no using logic with him.

35. That's really a shame. However, I know there's
nothing that can be done to change a closed, locked and double-bolted mind. I have a cousin in Virginia who'd vote for Allen even if he participated in a lynching on her front lawn. Hell, that would make her more inclined to vote for him. Just horrible.

30. After 5 years of asking Allen to this
he does it now, 38 days before the election. An election that shouldn't have even been close. Hah!

I can only imagine how difficult this was for Allen to do. In his mind he must be scraping the bottom of the bowl for votes. Time to do something for the poor Black folk (probably not the words he used) and maybe some of them will be dumb enough to vote for him. :eyes:

God, how I hope the people of Virginia wake up to what a creep this guy is. At least half the voters in Virginia seem to be getting it. To the rest of them: How about voting for a grown up? Do you really want to continue to be the butt of late night television jokes?

It is even more telling that the GOP considers this Neanderthal a contender for 2008. Heaven help us! Bush was bad enough, but he never kept a noose in his office.
