Feingold hints at 2008 presidential candidacy

U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., addressed a possible 2008 presidential bid Monday, saying the outcome of the U.S. Congressional elections in November could determine whether he runs.

...

Aldrich added November’s outcome will bring considerable light to how favorably the American public views his stance on various issues.

“If they are not successful in November, then it gives him an indication that this may not be the time for him to consider (running for president),” he said. “But if the candidates are successful, it may be telling him these issues are something resonating with the public.”

According to Aldrich, such issues include the positions that the war in Iraq was a mistake, that there should be legislation to create paper trails for every electronic voting machine and that big money unfairly influences elections.

1. The msm would just love to hack away at Russ
I can hear it now: "Russ Feingold, ultra liberal supporter of immediate withdrawal from iraq and other far left causes..."

5. "liberal," "democrat," "far left," and "out of Iraq"
are sounding very good right now to family members of brigades/divisions that are currently being extended.

4. He should run anyway
He's one of our best, and his presence in the race will be nothing but a positive. I'm getting sick of all these assumptions that it will be Hillary or Gore. It's 18 months til the primaries, and I want to see as many good candidates as possible in the mix.

10. This is the only politician I have absolute faith in , his honesty
and beliefs. He has stayed his course all the way through this nightmare administration. I don't want to lose the one person I believe in. He is my champion in a country that I have lost faith in. How do I contact him to let him know that he has to keep on standing up for what he believes in. He is the hope for so many. We need this man!
