Richard A. Clarke Launches Good Harbor Report on the Internet
WASHINGTON and PHOENIX, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Good Harbor Report, (www.GoodHarborReport.com), a new website dedicated to national security and international conflict, and guided by former White House officials Richard A. Clarke and Roger Cressey, has begun operating. The site will highlight topics ranging from terrorism and war to alternative energy and pandemics, providing both a virtual public square for a distinguished and diverse list of contributors, and a uniquely interactive stage by which the larger community can also engage in the debate.

The contributors are led by Richard A. Clarke, former White House counterterrorism czar and bestselling author, and also chairman of the board of GoodHarborReport.com, and Roger Cressey, former Director of Transnational Threats to the National Security Council, also on the board of directors of GoodHarborReport.com. Other contributors include former federal officials, intelligence professionals, military officers, ambassadors, cyber experts, risk analysts, CEOs, scientists and physicians, and range from Michael Sheehan, former NYPD Deputy Commissioner, Counter Terrorism, to General Donald Kerrick, former Deputy National Security Advisor, to Mary McCarthy, former Special Assistant and Senior Director for Intelligence Programs, NSC, to Owen Sirrs, former senior analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The site will feature several different platforms, including articles written by the growing roll call of contributors; forums where the contributors can respond instantly to world events; a daily round-up of world editorial opinion; opportunities for the community to discuss these same subjects; and an interactive section where cause-related groups can promote their efforts and reach a larger audience, linking with like-minded individuals and organizations.

"Our intention is that GoodHarborReport.com will become the first place people look to find unfiltered ideas and uncensored opinions on the most consequential issues of the day," Clarke said. "The contributors are people who need to be heard."

7. Richard Clarke ran the country on 9/11... while Dick was watching his
Halliburton stock shares.

I've created an account, and subscribed to the newsletters.

For anyone who's interested in matters of counterterrorism and national security, it can't be stressed enough: I strongly urge you to sign up, and benefit from Dick Clarke's and Roger Cressey's invaluable, outstanding and timely expertise (even if the current Administration didn't heed their advice!).

12. Indeed, bleever - and now everyone, regardless of political affiliation,
who is interested in our national security (and after 9/11, that should be every American), can benefit from their many years of counterterrorism knowledge that every President from Nixon to Bush 43 was briefed on. This will become a very significant source of information for the cyberspace community. Larry Johnson's website is one, as well.

I've bookmarked their site to my morning "must read" list (along with Virginia and Pennsylvania political blogs, Daily Kos, MyDD, Americablog, the aforementioned Larry Johnson site, and Crooks and Liars).

15. Interesting that you mention counterterrorism knowledge from the Nixon era
because no one has been talking about that (excepting people mentioning how the Red Brigade was 'legitimized' by the high-profile contributions of counter-intelligence).

Maybe the ultimate hubris was thinking that by controlling the executive and legislative branches, and exerting tremendous influence and pressure on the judiciary, that they would automatically neutralize the cultures of the CIA and the FBI, which were after all built on the dedication of thousands of lives to the service of a system in which the CIA and the FBI were essential.

In the end, it may be hard to root out all the patriots.

20. I love Richard Clarke. He was the only one who really understood
that he was a public servant. He was the only one who had the integrity to apologize to the 9/11 survivors of the victims for not being able to keep their loved ones safe.

I hope this is not against the DU rules to give publicity to this site. If so, I apologize.
