Reuters: Nuclear talks with Iran may start without U.S.-report
Nuclear talks with Iran may start without U.S.-report

BERLIN, Sept 23 (Reuters) - France, Britain and Germany would be willing
to begin talks with Iran even if it has not suspended its nuclear enrichment
programme first, but Washington would not take part, a German magazine
reported on Saturday.

So far Iran has refused to suspend its uranium enrichment programme, which
could refine uranium for atom bombs, saying its nuclear fuel ambitions are
limited to fuelling power stations. Western countries suspect Tehran wants
to produce weapons.

Citing unnamed German diplomatic sources, weekly Der Spiegel said the goal
of this new strategy would be to lure Tehran to the negotiating table
to discuss a package of incentives offered by six world powers in June
in exchange for a suspension of Iran's uranium enrichment programme.

The six powers that made the offer to Iran -- the United States, France, Russia,
China, Britain and Germany -- said the package was negotiable but conditioned
any negotiations on a suspension of enrichment, a process of purifying uranium
for use as fuel in nuclear power plants or atomic weapons. In a preview of an
article to appear on Sunday, the magazine said a decision by the "EU3" to begin
preliminary talks with Iran would require a positive outcome of discussions
between European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Iran's chief
nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani.

1. Ignacio Ramolet of Le Monde Diplomatique said that in July.
Dennis Kucinich is still scared that the drum beats may be too loud for Johnny not to go marching off to Teheran, though.

Check out my blog post earlier this morning at http://screechingrats.com the French text is translated into English in the link.

4. I don't get it, USA has more nuclear weapons than any country in the world
.
.
.

Stealth fighters, satellites, Depleted Uranium munitions, etc., etc.,

Methinks the US don't want nations to be able to DEFEND themselves from the PNAC agenda.

USA, without United Nations approval, and no support from its closest neighbours, Canada and Mexico, unilaterally decided to invade and occupy Iraq.

NO ONE COULD STOP THEM!

Cuz the USA has more nukes than anyone else, so we (the world) kowtow to the USA War-Machine.

But Russia and China ain't gonna put up with too much more shit in their backyard methinks.

If nuke shit from a USA attack on Iran starts floating into Russia and China . . .

'nuff said.

2. Clue: Ahmadinejad is NOT going to stop whatever he is cooking
just because the rest of the world dangles carrots before him.
His neighbors have nuclear power AND nuclear weapons and they aren't getting the smackdown.

He is being portrayed as a madman who wants the end of the world, I hear, and it just might be because he really is....

Bush doesn't want to talk with him, and as long as W stamps his foot, the earth must listen...
or should we?
