Medicare administrator to resign once bill signed
"Thomas Scully, the Bush administration official deeply involved in drafting the Medicare bill, said Wednesday he will resign once President Bush signs the Medicare overhaul into law.

Scully said he probably will take a job at one of five law or investment firms that want him to advise clients affected by the sweeping Medicare legislation. But he said he has no formal offer of employment."

When or when will they call this corruption??? I'm not defending Boeing but I don't understand how what they did is different than this or Haliburton except our senators are dems.

1. Scully Got An Ethics Exemption
To talk with potential employers while he was working on the Bill. Just another greedy rat deserting Dimbo's ship for now.

He may be a greedy rat, but he may not be deserting the ship. He may have taken the job precisely with this in mind - help pass the legislation that will reap millions for cronies in industry, then return to industry to help those cronies line their pockets (and his!). It's a great example of the "revolving door". Great and just about as blatant an example as I can imagine.

And yes, I don't see it much different than the Boeing/Pentagon thing either.

7. I found where he got his "ethics certificate"!

The certificate certifies that you are an ethical person, no matter your past deeds.

It is fantastic for:

Lawyers

Politicians

Pro-sports stars

Stock brokers

Used car salespeople

Ethics commissioners of Canada appointed by the Prime Minister

5. well, wasn't that the master's plan?
why the hell wouldn't the BFEE want to do what Poppy always desired?

Remember "Righter, Tighter Hands"?

We FodderUnits are only here on this earth to keep the pockets of the CEOs and RobberBarons well filled with our personal needs of water, electricity, insurance, medical care, - then there's that all important funeral tradition -

check and see how many inter-twined Board of Directors there are that make certain that those at the top get to keep on skimming along

4. Corporate TV Pravda will NEVER call this corruption
It would expose their own corruption and betrayal of Amerika.

Besides, my man got an "ethics waiver", which of course the whole Imperial Family and Minions tacitly have (so why even bother except as window dressing?), so what are you talking about, you unpatriotic Commie?

</sarcasm off>

6. Their whole corrupt administration is one giant ethics waiver.
Edited on Thu Dec-04-03 01:07 PM by benfranklin1776
This is reminiscent of the EPA officials who, after helping to gut the clean air act took a job with power companies. http://truthout.org/docs_03/090703I.shtml This is to say nothing of Dickie still getting deferred compensation from Halliburton as they are gorging themselves at the government trough. Every action they take is clouded in a malodorous stench of conflict of interest.
