US cannot "force" nations to reach agreements: Bush

Making it clear that the issue of Kashmir has to be resolved between India and Pakistan, President George W Bush on Friday said US can only help create conditions for peace and cannot "force" nations to reach agreements.

Bush also virtually ruled out a civilian nuclear deal with Pakistan on the lines the United States has signed with India, saying that the two leaders discussed energy and current proliferation issues in the framework of the "recent history".

"We talked about energy, and we talked about our need to work through the recent history that we've had together on dealing with proliferation matters," Bush said at a joint press conference with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf at the White House after their meeting.

The issue of Kashmir must be resolved by the leaders of India and Pakistan and that the United States can only help create conditions for peace, Bush said.

2. That is one of the most hypocritical
statements Bush has ever said: "The issue of Kashmir must be resolved by the leaders of India and Pakistan and that the United States can only help create conditions for peace", Bush said.
