Bail set for man charged in murder of former SunCruz Casinos owner

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A man charged in the murder of former SunCruz Casinos owner Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis has posted a $500,000 bond, and bail was set for another.

Circuit Judge Michael Kaplan ruled last month that Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello and James "Pudgy" Fiorillo should be allowed to bond out of a Broward County jail, where they have been held since their September 2005 arrest, while awaiting trial.

Moscatiello posted a $500,000 bond Wednesday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported for Friday editions.

Fiorillo's bond was set Thursday for $100,000. His public defender had argued that neither Fiorillo's family nor his friends could afford to post a high bond, though H. Dohn Williams told the newspaper Thursday that bail amount was reasonable.

Boulis, a Greek immigrant who also founded the Miami Subs restaurant chain, was shot at the wheel of his car on a Fort Lauderdale street amid a power struggle over SunCruz.

Abramoff might want to start looking over his shoulder more now that his hitmen are back out on the street.

1. Do you have any idea if this had anything to do with a mafia
organization?

3. That's where they got their start
but at the time of the Boulis murder both were employed by SunCruz for work that they never actually did.

4. I've always wondered about our so-called fight against the mafia.
I always understood that the strategy behind our fight against the Italian mafia, was to basically allow one family to rule an area and use information from them to wipe out the others. If nothing else, it would save civilian lives that got caught in the crossfire when the famiies fought against each other. I always wondered who the last family standing would be, and what kind of power they would weld with that kind of information about how our criminal justice system works.
