US First Lady Laura Bush opened a summit organized by former president Bill Clinton on major challenges facing the world, and announced that the US government would send water pumps to Africa.

Clinton introduced Bush as someone who "used to be a teacher."

"Hillary (Clinton) and I have been particularly grateful for her advocacy of education for young women in developing countries," the former US president said.

The first lady detailed US initiatives for development and unveiled a new one at the second annual Clinton Global Initiative conference, held on the margins of the UN General Assembly.

14. Bill Clinton was defending Bush

on TV this morning. He said Hugo Chavez shouldn't have said Bush was the devil.

It is getting harder and harder to tell the Democrat from the Republican party. And both are not working for the people of the U.S.A.

We need fresh, new candidates. It is too late for this election, but not for 2008.

I quit giving to the democratic party because they have to give the dlc New Democrats part of the money. I don't want my money to go to the republican democrats, so I give to individual candidates, but there isn't any in my state. There is no choice.

15. You have to remember Clinton is a lawyer..

His words are carefully parsed. Of course, Bush isn't the devil..duh!
Chavez should have chosen his words more carefully and Clinton's response
would not have been so much of a rebuke.

Now, if Chavez had said, "Bush IS LIKE the devil" which elicits a different
meaning, Clinton may have just smiled and come back with a totally different
response. Something like, "Well, I guess in Prez Chavez'z minds eye, theres
a distinct disconnect with the present administration. Hopefully, at some time
in the near future, they can find a positive resolution to their differences."

And thats it!

Clinton is able to walk the fine lined tightrope between the Parties. I'd be
forever thankful if he could rub Hillary's belly and pass this talent on to her.
