Bush to Meet With Palestinian Leader

By NEDRA PICKLER

NEW YORK (AP) - President Bush, who says peace in the Middle East is one of the prime objectives of his presidency, is sitting down with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas for some of the hard work it will take to turn those words into action.

Bush's meeting Wednesday was a show of support for Abbas' moderate politics and his standing in the peace process, even though Abbas was weakened by the victory of rival Hamas militants in parliamentary elections earlier this year.

The Bush-Abbas meeting comes on the same day that the United States and other would-be Mideast peacemakers hold their first session since this summer's fighting between Israel and Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

President Bush addresses the 61st session of the United Nations General Assembly at U.N. headquarters, Tuesday Sept. 19, 2006. Bush, poised to outline to world leaders his vision of a 21st century framework for global security, pressed Iran once more Tuesday to immediately begin negotiations on its nuclear program. The U.N. Security Council also plans an open meeting Thursday that is intended to revive the peace process.

2. No - but Hamas just kicked some Israeli butt

and least in the world opinion war. Bush now needs to contain the open sore that is Palestine while we are all tied
up in the fumblefest that is Iraq AND we are trying to talk tuff with Iran.

I think the Middle East and it's politics are way beyond Bush and the Neocon cabal. Condi was a specialist in Soviet
affairs... now she has moved on to Canadian affairs :sarcasm:

6. Karl Rove has staged the whole "rumor" about Condo and the Canadian guy...
to cover-up something, some people say.

Folks are saying that this is to discredit all those stories on the front pages of the tabloids saying that Bush is having an affair with Condo?

I mean, it's not like Bush can just send some Anthrax (again?) to the editors of those newspapers.

Some people say this whole story is just to fool us into thinking Condo isn't doing Bush while Pickles hides at The Mayflower Hotel.

Or perhaps there is substantiated evidence that Condo is a lesbian?

Some people say.

4. The Bush administration is pulling out all the stops now.
Since this administration has actually increased destablization of the entire world and increased world disorder they are trying anything to divert attention and salvage this administrations legacy.
